Airport Day

Well to say the least this week was super busy with preparing for airport day. Airport day was on Friday and our kids had to memorize a script and pretend they were at the airport. They had to check in, we made them passports, e-tickets and boarding passes. Their parents came so they had to be good and listen well. My kids did pretty well. I saw all my student's parents which was a first. Some of the parents work a lot and really late so they rarely are able to make it to these events. It was fun and I think the kids and parents liked it. It was a stressful week and the kids were tired to practicing, but over all it went well. All my parents came to thank me personally before they left. It was very nice of them. Anyways all the female teachers had to dress up as flight attendants by wearing a black skirt and a white shirt. They gave us scarves to wear. I looked more like a waitress, but the kids liked it. I also made my skirt from old dress pants that were too big for me now. So I have 2 pictures of me. I look really bad, but you can tell me if I look like a flight attendant or not. haha

Also cherry blossom season is almost over here. It doesn't last long, but I have some pretty shots that I took on my way home. Enjoy the pretty trees. I am off to finish grading. I will be home in less than 3 weeks. I have so much to prepare! Have a good week! Besos!

Cherry blossoms and spring time fun!

Well I had a pretty good week. It was busy though, but fun none the less. I took my kids to the dream park this week. It is spring in Korea, which came much later than last year, and we have a lot of cherry blossom trees in the dream park. I walked away with many flowers on Thursday and Friday. It was really cute, but I told them to stop picking the flowers off and they told me they weren't. They really were but wanted to give me and Jenny teacher flowers. My kids are cute. As always I have some pictures to share.

So many flowers!

So I heard about what happened in Boston and I was very sad. My kids heard about it too and told me "Teacher America boom!" then they ask "Ahh...Tara Teacher Mommy Daddy okay?" Yeah my kids don't understand that America is really big and not all of America blew up. They thought there was no more America. So I spent time talking about it with them and explaining that American is big and it still was there and didn't explode. They were very sweet to ask if my parents were okay. They were very worried. It was really cute.

Matt came to visit the kids. They were so excited to see him. They were really cute. They all hugged him and almost knocked him over. This weekend Matt, Haris and Andy came up to Uijeongbu to visit the old bars they liked to go to. My current co workers also came out with us and it was a lot of fun. It was fun and they ended up crashing at my place. Now my place is pretty small so I slept in my bed, Haris slept on the floor in my room and Matt and Andy slept in my kitchen. Matt decided to sleep in front of my bedroom door and the bathroom door. I literally had to jump over him to go to the bathroom. I only slept 3 hours and as I write this I am ready to pass out. lol Anyways, I made them breakfast and we talked for awhile. Andy and Matt left and Haris stayed to hang out for a little while. We went to eat a late lunch and did some shopping. It was a nice weekend. We had a lot of fun at Norebang (literal translation is sing room, but we call it karaoke). I had a good weekend and now I will have Airport day on Friday. Wish me and my kids luck! I hope it goes well! Well have a good week. I am off to bed! Besos!

Crazy puppet show and seeing old friends

Well this week was pretty good. I had fun with my kids and I got to see old friends that used to work with me. So first off my kids got to watch a puppet show. It was in Korean, and one of the men is the father of one of our youngest students. The puppet show had music, lights and was about poop. Yes you read that right poop! It was kind of ridiculous but the kids loved it. It was cute because Lumi was translating for me what was happening. The play was supposed to teach the kids about eating healthy and not junk food all the time or else you will have bad poop. No joke that had good poop and bad poop. Koreans love jokes about poop or farting so I am not too suprised. Anyways here are some photos.

I have such a weird expression here. haha

I am getting the kids quiet. haha

poop

Lots of kids huh? Anyways this weekend Matt came to visit. Now Matt left 6 months ago and I took over his Einstein class when he left. I have kept in touch with him and I missed having him around as I do all the old foreign teachers. So we hung out this weekend. Matt, Andy, Haris, Leah and I. We stayed out all night in Iteawon which is more for foreigners and I not a huge fan of the area, but it was a nice time. We hung out and relaxed and the boys got drunk. I had a couple of drinks over the course of 8 hours but I wasn't drunk or even tipsy. haha The boys were that is for sure, but they are funny drunks but not like dancing on the tables or just saying random, incoherent things. They have bets on things that are going on around us and then we have intellectual conversations about life. It is funny to watch because we don't act all crazy (well Kevin did). Maybe this is because we are older that we just talk and enjoy each others company. We were supposed to meet at 8pm, but I was the only one there at 8. Leah got there at 8:30 and the boys showed up at 9pm. We ate dinner and then went to one bar till 3am and to another one till 5:30. I got the first train home. Now this is the first time I have done this in Seoul. If you know me I am not a big drinker and I usually don't drink. If I do I don't drink much. So I don't usually go out because I hate staying up all night and I didn't sleep much today so I can go to bed at a good time for work tomorrow. However, I don't regret going because I got to be with people I really have missed. I wish the rest of the group was there. Meg, Kevin and Philip, but it was just nice to have the group we did. I didn't think that would happen again. It is funny that I got close to people who I never thought I would have. We all come from different places and even those from the States I probably wouldn't have met unless I came here. Haris is from Indiana, Andy is from Kentucky, Leah is from Florida and Matt is from England. When I said goodbye to Matt I never thought I would see him again. It was so nice to see him again. Anyways I have some photos from last night. Enjoy!

Haris hates pictures so he was trying to avoid my camera. Those were the best ones I got. haha. Anyways I am off to prepare for tomorrow and go to sleep. Have a great week everyone! Besos!
