Sorry I have been super busy!

Okay I know it has been two weeks.  Sorry I have been super busy with work and I haven't slept a lot either.  I blame Earth day!!! So both Earth days are done.  I think they were okay, but it was a pain to deal with.  Also had sex ed with the kids the other day.  Let me tell you I have never seen so much detail for a kid video for 3-6 year old.  They had positions and parts and it was just crazy!!! They had the whole sperm and egg explanation.  To say the least I was floored!!! I just couldn't believe it!!
Also I saw the Hunger Games out here.  It was in English with Korean subtitles.  I went with one of my Korean friends, Mia.  They also opened a new department store that is like 12 floors or something crazy.  The first 2 floors are just make up places! It is crazy!!! Umm... there is a movie theater too on like the 8th floor.  It is just crazy!!!

Anyways it is spring here so I have some pretty pictures to show! These are all from my walk home! Enjoy!!
Okay I really don't have much to say.  I am glad Earth Day is over!  It was so much work.  Now I have to get ready for open classes. This coming weekend is Children's Day so I'll share what I see this week including my students because we are going to celebrate Children's Day on Friday!  I hope everyone is well!  Sorry I don't have more! Besos!

A Korean Wedding

So yesterday I went to a Korean wedding!!! Oh my goodness I would have to say it was the most efficient wedding I've ever been to! Okay yes most of the weddings I have been to are Mexican wedding so they usually last forever and a day. Okay so first off it took us (the other foreign teachers and I) 2 hours to travel by train to where the wedding was being held.  It was a very long trip.  After being on the train for 2 hours the wedding in total lasted a little over an hour or so.  So to begin when we got to the hotel where the wedding was being held the bride (who is one of my Korean co-teachers) is in a seperate room where she can take pictures with the guests.  Okay so I don't have a picture of me with Alice Teacher but I have one with another foreign teacher.  Also the husband and his parents stand outside and greet the guests.
Alice Teacher! She looks so beautiful!!!

so these are congrats flowers I believe.

Okay so after seeing Alice we went in. They had a slide show of couple playing which was really cute. The wedding was supposed to start at 6pm and they did just that.  It started by the mothers walking down the aisle first then the groom followed by the bride and her father. All of this is put on a big screen too so everyone can see.

At the podium an army looking guy does the vows. The bride and groom say their vows and they had a song sung to them by a Korean Eliton John.  I kid you not it was really funny.  After that they bow to both parents and then walk up the aisle as a new couple.  The whole time we are being feed the like 5 course dinner.  After this the bride and groom take huge group photos (which the foreign teachers got to be in), and the bride picks one of the girls to catch the bouquet of flowers.  Toward the end of the night they bride and groom and both sets of parents go around and say thank you to all the guests.  This is after the bride changes her dress of course.

All of the foreign teachers! Matt, Kevin, Philip, Megan, Harris, Andrew, Leah and I.
So... once it ended we had to travel back to Uijeonbu for 2 hours again.  It was a very long night but I really had a nice time.  Alice teacher looked very happy and it was very interesting to see a Korean wedding.  I do have some more photos but I think the 15 I put up in this post are enough.  (At least I think it is 15).  Okay well I need sleep.  I have a very busy week ahead of me! Earth day for our 5 and 6 year old is this week and 7 year old is next week!  Oh it never ends! Okay I'll update soon hopefully! Besos!!!

Ugh...starting to hate Earth Day!!!

Okay I really don't hate Earth day but some of the things I have to teach to my students for the Earth Day celebration is just crazy.  For both of my classes they have 3 songs and a chant to memorize.  All of them have dances.  Mind you that because I teach two age groups that means I have like 8 to memorize.  The dances are very similar and I sometime mess them up.  It is really annoying!!!

Anyways I have some more pictures to share.

Home time!!! Joey and Jennifer!  Two of my favorites!
My favorite 3 year old! Victoria!!!

Home time! Lumi and Melissa!
Davinci class. My 6 (real age 4 and 5) year old.

Edison class. My 7 (real age 5) year old class.
Okay short update this week.  I haven't done much but teach songs that haunt me in my sleep.  I have dreams with the songs and chants in them!!! OMG!!!! Okay I need to get to bed! Happy Easter!!! Besos!!!

3 months

Well as of tomorrow I will have been in Korea for 3 months!!! I can't believe it already.  Some days it feels like I have been here for a really long time.  Other days it feels like I just got off the plane.  Weird I know.  Well the weather is getting warmer.  Went to one of the palaces yesterday.  We even got a free tour guide from a 1st year high school student named Corey.  His English was really good but he was very shy.  I'll post a few pictures.  I'll add one with him once my friend uploads the pictures on facebook.  It was interesting and I learned a lot about the history.

Okay so these are just a few pictures I took.  We also went to a tea house and I had pomegranate tea.  It tasted really good and was super sweet.

Oh so I have mentioned Victoria a lot in my other posts.  She isn't one that I teach except when I teach all day Kindy so her main teacher sent me this picture and I wanted to share it with everyone.
She is the one looking at the camera.  Isn't she cute? She is only 3!
Oh I also mentioned that I eat out a lot but when I do cook at home this is what I usually eat.
This is Ramen with Udan, mandu (dumplings), egg and mushrooms!
Okay that is about all I have for now.  I am going to wedding in two weeks so I'll let you know how that goes.  It is for one of the Korean teachers at my school.  I'll try to update again soon! Besos!
